Ahhh these boys!! I'm starting to realise that the season of being 'just mum' is actually coming to an end. I think I've been so focused on finding work, feeling ready for a different kind of challenge and wanting to prove myself, that I haven't thought much about what a shift it's going to be... . I know lots of people said to me things like, 'Enjoy this time' and 'make the most of it'. And I am definitely guilty of not doing that, partly because it wasn't through choice that I stopped work and also if I'm honest some pride. . And now things are about to change I'm wondering about those words again 'just a mum.' To my boys I've been mummy who's been around lots for cuddles and play fighting. I've been mummy who has taken them to playgroups and walks on the beach. I've been mummy who has learned lots about dinosaurs, football and now flipping Star Wars. Ive been mummy to shout at and push against, and mummy who is constant. I've been mummy to talk about, and demonstrate to, big feelings. I've been mummy with time and energy and not always enough patience...Just a mum is flipping hard work but its a flipping privilege too. . I'm feeling apprehensive that we're only going to see the worst of each other when I start back to work...But I really believe me working is best for our family. And for me. . I need some positive stories/advice about being a working parent. And any life hacks that make it amy easier?? . Well, I started #workingout on my legs. 3 sessions so far, every other day. I found articles tying leg/butt health, to #brainhealth... but maybe my back and arms need a little help!! 😂😂😂 O.M.G.. please don't hate on me! I literally do not work out! Never have.. well I tried to commit to the gym once... when I was like 20... and I worked at McDonalds.. and ate 3 square meals a day from there.. I always wondered why the gym never worked then😂😂😂😂😮😣 Fast forward to now (I am much older), 5.5 year post one child. I literally have been real lazy. But last summer, I basically spent my days cleaning up a mess on 5 acres, and pulling trees for wood heat. However, nothing since the snow fall.... I'm a #luckybitch#forevergrateful ... I seem to have finally lost some extra flesh that shows my tone better now. Over the years, I have also adjusted my eating habits(yes they were pretty shitty before), and slowly, it is really simple. No super diets, no knee jerk changes that are hard to commit to, and also not at all expensive. Simple elimination process, and allowing the body to do its thang inside. The bad stuff takes time to be flushed from the system. Have patience, but just commit to slow changes. It is going to be nuts when I actually #applymyself to a committed regimen. My focus though for now is the core and legs, that area really is kind of the weak side of me. And I need to match it to my upper body lol.... But I feel for the first time, I am actually committed (It does help that I have a new buddy spamming me pep talks to keep with it. And it's motivating him too).
