Back to training tonight. Got my swim in, kids-settled and now chilling for a little bit in the Carolina room sipping my Keto Bone Broth for the 60 day Reboot I am doing ! This one is coconut curry! Yummy! . Feeling great and not hangry at all. The key to the Reboot. Do all the steps, get mentally focused, hydrate hydrate hydrate and remember your electrolytes. . Kinda like a race! I intended to come home with a different medal than this after the weekend, but mother nature will do as she pleases, my intentions be damned. But this one will still look good next to the others 😎 The trail race was a different experience than I'm used to. Add in running uphill, at altitude, and my fast start had my lungs on fire by mile 2, so I slowed and even got passed by a few people 😩. But, I kept telling myself, "just get to the top and make up ground on the way back down." And, sure enough, that's what I did. There's something about sprinting down a mountain on the verge of losing control that I really like. In the end, the strategy paid off. 🥇/🥉 As I get more and more races under my belt, the common theme that keeps replaying itself is not one of preparation or even natural ability. It's being able to feel the pain, the burn, and push forward anyway; to endure the pain longer. Perhaps even, embrace it - to know it's coming, accept it, and run with it (no pun intended 🤣). More and more, I dont think the successful people are necessarily "better" at what they're doing, I think they can tolerate the difficulty better and longer.
