I love this exercise, the seated cable row.  A great back developer that will also work your biceps.  Theres a variety of handles you can use, all which change the emphasis slightly. This one focuses more on the middle back.  Make sure you sit upright, with a neutral spine, chest up and shoulder blades pinned back.  DON'T EGO LIFT  Control the weight as it lowers. 📚Technique Friday:  Hoe voer je de Lateral Pull Down uit?  Het correct uitvoeren van de Lateral Pull Down helpt jou hoofdzakelijk bij het ontwikkelen van de Latissimus Dorsi en misschien wel bij je eerste pull-up.  Eigenlijk moeten we de uitvoering opsplitsen in 2 delen. Dit nadat je de stang hebt vastgepakt op iets meer dan schouderbreedte (later in dit bericht meer over gripwijdte). -- 1) Scapulaire retractie: hierbij wil je je schouderbladen naar achteren en beneden brengen waardoor je borst omhoog komt (thoracale extensie)  zodat je ''lats'' geactiveerd zijn. -- 2) Pull beweging: Begin met de bar richting je borst te trekken met scapulaire retractie zoals hierboven omschreven. Enkel je armen bewegen, welke geleid worden door je ellebogen die richting je rug bewegen. De stang moet de bovenkant borst / sleutelbeen aanraken. Breng daarna de stang weer geleidelijk terug naar de oorspronkelijke start positie waarna je stap 1 en stap 2 opnieuw uitvoert. -- Hoe breedt pak je de stang vast?  Vaak hoor je hoe wijder je grip des te breder je lats worden. Dat is een fabel. Spieren reageren op een correcte stimulus. Dit betekent dat zolang je de spieren een stimulus geeft doormiddel van de spier samen te trekken deze zal deze groeien. Groeien als in dikte en wijdte. Dit natuurlijk met juiste volume, herstel, slaap en voeding.  Met de Lateral Pull down werkt de medium grip beter dan de wijdere grip (aangetoond in dit onderzoek: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/m/pubmed/24662157/) Dit komt doordat je met een medium grip een betere techniek zal hanteren en een grotere range of motion zult hebben. Hoe wijd moet je dan de stang vasthouden? Ten eerste iets wat comfortabel voor jezelf is, maar ongeveer 1.5x schouderbreedte. -- @pheasyque #coaching #fitness #krachttraining #backday #lats
