A little #flamingopink to keep you warm this FULL BLOWN WINTER morning 🥶❄️ Our #hst#babyquilt is officially finished and off to an NYC nursery ❤️ Keep an eye on our Handmade Home Decor Collection though - we’ll be adding two new quilts next week! 🙌🏼
January posts have had lots of white in them and I’m ready to add some color. My flash back from ten years ago is when I started to dip my toes in quilting. A quilt a year about does it for me. It’s really time consuming and I like quick projects. I still have one started from two years ago that needs completed... It’s fun, but I usually gift my quilts because I don’t need quilts piled in my cabinets. This was a baby quilt for my little guy when he was just one and I learned how to make perfect circles! #quiltingtutorial#quiltinglove#edeenutblogpost#quiltersofinstagram

This morning I got to deliver the newest member of my family her quilt. A smaller quilt as well as some burp cloths for Mum were also given. Baby Jo-Ella was born on Monday morning to my sister Jo-Ellen’s granddaughter Ellen. Her big brother Jackobie isn’t too sure what to make of her. Welcome to our family baby girl . #newbabygirl#newestfamilymember#quilt#babyquilt#burpcloth#handmade#memade
Quilt “Businka” (Eng. Small bead). It wasn’t an easy project, not just because I don’t have enough patchwork and quilting skills but also the environment around me didn’t let me do it as fast as I would like to. I faced a few technical problems too. First, I had to change the pattern sizes, it wasn’t as easy as it looks. Second, I had to put together completely different patterns in a logical way. Third, the colours, I think other patchworkers understand how difficult it can be to choose the correct colours, and until the last moment I still wasn’t sure i made the right choices. And the worst and very stressful thing was running out of the fabric. I used too much of one fabric in the samples and of course I didn’t have enough for the main quilt. It was my bad luck that the shop I bought the fabric from originally had sold out and wouldn’t have it in stock for 3 months. So I had to do a big search, I was running from shop to shop, speaking to a lot of online fabric shops, purchasing different fabrics hoping that they will fit. That was very stressful! The quilting part was very adventurous too. I spent quite a few days unstitching my work. Unfortunately, I still didn’t learn how to use rulers. Hopefully with more practice it will be easier. The back part of the quilt was very interesting too. I never had any problems with my needles but this time for a first time I faced the difficulty, I could only use one needle’s brand. I only had one set of twin needles and they broke in the middle of the work. I bought different brands, but they still didn’t work, I bought two more from two different brands, they still didn’t work. Good thing that we have amazon now, it saved me :)!
