Hello All, As you already know, the Jamie Oliver @foodrev has been a huge piece of my heart for several years now as his ambassador for the state SC. I was ready to continue my ambassadorship after moving to Washington State collaborating with other ambassadors there. In early 2017 the Food Revolution stopped adding ambassadors to their program, and although I am a little late with this announcement, wanted you all to know that in August of 2018 The Jamie Oliver Food Revolution announced to all of his dedicated ambassadors that the ambassadorship program that they will no longer continue. It was such an honor to have been chosen to be in this food fight alongside the most amazing group of people beginning in 2014 and although the ambassadorship program has come to a close, our fight lives on! Mile High Club ✈️ - - I’m sure this caption caught the attention of some of my followers. You know who you are! 😈 Get your minds out of the gutter folks, this was my Mile High “Wine” Club. Somewhere above Nevada I kicked off my week off with a wine and cheese pairing as we headed to New York. 🗽 🍎 - - Wine: This non-vintage Pays D’Oc Grenache, Syrah, Mourvedre blend was the only red wine available, so that’s what I ordered. This ruby red blend had flavors of red fruit and some spice. It is neither fruity, nor dry but somewhere in the middle. The tannins were silky and the finish was fairly long. It paired well with the cheese plate that included aged cheddar, Brie, dill havarti and baby Swiss cheeses along with honey, dried apricots and sea salt olive oil crackers. The dried apricots brought this wine to life, as did the Brie and honey! 😋 - - Cocktail: Normally I would stop here, but I couldn’t pass up on the D.I.Y. Drinks activity that the good folks at JetBlue had taken the trouble to create. Omaha, Omaha. No, no, Payton Manning isn’t coming out of retirement. 🏈 It was 35,000 feet above Omaha, Nebraska where I bought the ingredients to create my first Mile-High Mule: - Seagram’s Ginger Ale - Tito’s Handmade Vodka - True Lime Packet - Dried Apricot Garnish I combined the ingredients in a glass filled with ice, stirred them well and voila - One Mile-High Mule ready to sip!
