When I am among the trees, especially the willows and the honey locust, equally the beech, the oaks and the pines, they give off such hints of gladness. I would almost say that they save me, and daily. I am so distant from the hope of myself, in which I have goodness, and discernment, and never hurry through the world but walk slowly, and bow often. Around me the trees stir in their leaves and call out, “Stay awhile.” The light flows from their branches. And they call again, “It’s simple,” they say, “and you too have come into the world to do this, to go easy, to be filled with light, and to shine. - Mary Oliver
Being extra cheeky for Earth Day! Swipe to see video and no I didn't fall once! 👉🙈 . Despite the weather warning: "Flash flood possible. Some slot canyons may experience flooding" 😱 we got to Zion NP at 8am and headed to the Narrows carrying 1-2 liters of water each, lots of snacks, and wearing our rented gear (get the shoes! get the hiking sticks!!) . It had recently rained so the waters were murky and we couldn't see where we were stepping but it was SO much fun and we only turned around when the water reached our belly! I'm 5'7" and was on my tippy toes so you know that's a lot of water!! 10/10 would do it all again 💯
Happy Earth Day!! I’m feeling so grateful for the last months, it was absolutely magical and full of joy to discover new places and beautiful souls! I can’t wait to see the next adventures #happyearthday#lifeisadventure#dreamlife#hawaii🌺
“We are travelers on a cosmic journey, stardust, swirling and dancing in the eddies and whirlpools of infinity. Life is eternal. We have stopped for a moment to encounter each other, to meet, to love, to share. This is a precious moment. It is a little parenthesis in eternity.” – Paulo Coelho :::::::::: Swipe through to see some more shots of this magical evening :::::::::: travel account @marianapostcards
| SIBLING ASSIGNMENTS | ⠀⠀ Back in the day when I had all smalls my homeschool looked radically different. Small chunks of formal learning were scattered throughout the day fitting it in between meltdowns and diaper changes. Now that I have children that can handle their own bathroom duties, life is considerably less chaotic. It’s busy and full, but calmer. ⠀⠀ One way that has helped me considerably to get the tasks accomplished in our schooling day is sibling assignments. Each of my 4 bigs (ages 7, 9, 11, & 12) are assigned 30 minutes of play time with their 5 & 3 year old siblings. This is part of the school day and not optional. It’s their assignment. During this time I can have the one-on-one time for phonics, dictation, etc. that the others desperately need. ⠀⠀ This practice started long before there were six kids and before I had kids bumping up against teenage-hood. This dates way back to the early years when I would assign the 4, 3 & 1 year old a game to play so I could take a quick shower. #babiesraisingbabies ⠀⠀ In the early years of sibling assignments, I set out special toys for the time. (You could even assign small pre-k games if you wanted to go the extra mile. I don’t. I never go the extra mile. 🤣) Now that the kids are older they are pretty good at choosing the activities. Magna-tiles, trains, reading, mud kitchen, babies, and Little People are a few of their go-tos. ⠀⠀ I find that sibling assignments is great for teaching shared family responsibility and deepens sibling relationship. Plus, I get actually teach the 7-year-old to read. Maybe they will all actually be literate. //@travelinfam ⠀⠀ How do you handle your little ones when you do school, homework or language study? What are a few tips to reign in the madness?
It's spring time though the weather is not cooperating these past few weeks. Okay. The rain, yes, because it's spring but it's been single digit still for almost everyday. I can't wait for longer days, sunshine, and to hangout more with this cutie patootie who will turn 4 next week and will be going to school!! #timegoesbysofast#olympusinspired#lavenderfields
~ 𝚃𝚞𝚎𝚜𝚍𝚊𝚢 ~ This morning was a cold morning, our lovely neighbour dropped off some fresh eggs so I made some yummy omelettes for breakfast. I had to take a photo first though, I couldn’t help but think how pretty they looked in the morning light sat in the bowl on the bench. Beauty is found even in the most unexpected places. Have a lovely Tuesday everyone 🌿
Happy Earth Day! When we moved to Colorado five years ago I gained a whole new appreciation for how awe inspiring mother nature can be. Now I feel so lucky to live close to so much natural beauty and I can tell it has become a part of me as I can’t go too long without a hike or just getting outside. Pregnancy has slowed me down a ton and I’m counting down the days until we can get a few easy hikes in with our little one this summer.
[EN] We may have lost the cherry blossoms of this street, but that's ok because we will be here for many other years to check it out. Meanwhile, we continue checking the other cherry blossoms around. :::: [PT] A gente pode até ter perdido as cerejeiras floreiras dessa rua, mas não tem problemas, ainda haverá muitos outros anos aqui. Enquanto isso, nesse meio período, continuamos visitando outras ruas que ainda estão floridas. :::: #tvvcanada#tudoviraviagem#everythingturnsintoatrip#canada#vancouver
