Had the opportunity to catch up with one of my favorite people - Judge Zaven Sinanian. Appointed by Gov. Gray Davis, Judge Sinanian has mentored many young lawyers and students. He is and always will be someone who helps reinforce my confidence in our judicial system (despite its shortfalls) and restores my faith in the legal profession. #nolawyerjokes#integrity#armenianamerican

Today is a historical day! Glendale Mayor Zareh Sinanyan, Glendale council members, Senator Anthony Portantino representing district 25 and members of the Glendale community all were in attendance for the unveiling of Artsakh Ave. (formally known as Maryland) in Downtown Glendale. The first street honoring the Armenian American heritage in the entire city and it also happens to be just down the street from Central Library! Senator Portantino placing rocks from Artsakh in honor of the street name unveiling. Bringing a little bit of Armenia to Glendale! #myglendalelac#myglendale#glendale#artsakh#armenianamerican#heritage#streetname#visit
Congratulations to our 2018 scholarship recipient classical violin student Haig Hovsepian from Belmont, MA! Haig began his violin studies at the age of 4, joined the New England Conservatory Prep when he was 15, and is now a rising sophomore at the Cleveland Institute of Music where he is pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in classical violin performance. Haig has performed at various prestigious venues on the East Coast such as Carnegie Hall, Jordan Hall and the Boston Opera House. He has also made several appearances on NPR’s “From the Top.” At a very young age, Haig took pride in performing for charitable events raising funds for schools destroyed by the earthquake in Armenia. Over the last few years Haig won a series of competitions, received the Max Reger Ambassador Award and earned the title of laureate at the “Renaissance” International Competition in Gyumri, Armenia. Following his win at the 2017 Boston Symphony Orchestra Concerto Competition, he made his debut with the Boston Pops in June of this year!
