“Every great dream begins with a dreamer. Always remember, you have within you the strength, the patience, and the passions to reach for the stars to change the world.” - Harriet Tubman Love this portrait of @johnthomasbenson, a beautiful dreamer who is currently following his dream of acting in LA. As a lifelong dreamer myself, I know well how difficult it is to walk a path outside of the safety of the known. I also know from experience how absolutely worthwhile and incredibly fulfilling it is to work hard on your passions and watch your dreams become manifest. I have no doubt that this man will go far. I hope that everyone takes a moment today to reflect on or act in accordance with their dreams, whatever those dreams may be. We all have the ability to create magic and affect great change ✨♥️ . . . . . #followyourdreams#blackandwhiteportrait#bnwportrait#bnwphotography#studiolighting#portraitphotography#artofportraits#portraitmasters#tucsonphotographer#arizona#timelesselegance#heirloom
💛 | I graduated from Arizona State University with a degree in Political Science, but I always questioned why I was even there. My classes were representative of the usual political sphere... I could count on one hand the female minorities that were in my classes from freshman year to graduation. My classes were filled with smart, capable, confident people - and as someone who so strongly wanted to belong to that - I let it paralyze me. I was so afraid of doing the wrong thing, and so afraid of having the wrong opinion that I failed to speak up. I failed to show up. I never realized how much representation impacted my confidence, but I look at Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and I'm moved to actual tears because SHE DID IT. She made a spot for herself at the table, regardless of who else was standing in the room and by doing so she's making room for all the people that once had dreams like mine... I know we still have a long way to go, but I just wanted to take this moment because out of all things - THIS is something to be celebrated. #representationmatters
Antelope Canyon was quite different to some of the other more intimate slot canyons we explored in Utah. It’s astounding how time and water can create this fluid movement between the rock. As you walk between the two faces, it’s as if they’re dancing with one another.
We’re yet to talk to someone who has been to the Grand Canyon, who hasn’t expressed their shear amazement of it. Stephen was talking to his dad about the comedy of how something so basic as a hole in the ground can inspire people to have this reaction. He responded with a joke he heard: How do you sculpt an elephant out of a rock? You take away all the parts that don’t look like an elephant. As to say, it’s not what isn’t there that makes it so impressive, it is what remains.
