In 2014, a northern California couple discovered 1,427 gold coins, dating from 1847 to 1894 while out walking on their Tiburon property. Valued at $10M, it's safe to say that this was the largest find since the Gold Rush!
Introducing the Argonaut wallpaper. Feminine, delicate, intricate, that’s the shell. Clever, that’s the octopus. She creates the shell to brood in. Also....she will grow up to 10 cm and make shells up to 30 cm- whilst the male argonaut grows no larger than 2 cm. INTERESTING....What does she see in that tiny man?? This wallpaper creates a peaceful backdrop to a room with a feminine, intricate detail. If you would like a cutting, send me a DM. Happy Monday 🐚 #wallpaper#argonaut#bathroomwallpaper#paleblue#interiordesign
Spot the pocket clip. This is the first knife I ever made with hidden hardware. I refinished the scales and sanded them to 3000 grit before coloring. It also has a refinished clip and a new pivot. #argonaut#knife#knives#timascus#cmfmetalworks
Happy National Hot Toddy Day! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The earliest Hot Toddy recipe, as it appears in Jerry Thomas’ 1862 Bar-Tender’s Guide was of course made with brandy! (1 tea-spoonful of fine white sugar, 1 wine-glass of brandy, grated nutmeg) ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Although a full wine glass of brandy sounds tempting, we like to freshen up our Argonaut Toddies with a little lemon and local honey. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 1 1/2 oz. Argonaut Speculator 1 barspoon local honey 1/2 oz. fresh lemon juice 4 oz. boiling water Whole cloves ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Combine all ingredients in a warmed teacup or mug and stir to combine. Garnish with a clove-studded lemon wheel.
Rita Hansen, our master distiller, is a second generation winemaker who grew up surrounded by California wine. Rita has used her rich wine knowledge to distill some incredible California Brandy over the past decade and continues to lay down new barrels of Argonaut each year. Wow! Just found a folder of long-lost political cartoons I did for University of Idaho as the Argonaut cartoonist ca. 2006-2007ish. Almost forgot I even had that gig. Cant remember the political context and/or op editorials that produced some of these, but a fun flashback nonetheless. I feel like it’s time for some modern cartoons to express our current political landscape. Or, perhaps a series of misadventures starring @ erowmt ‘s infamous character, “Little Jonny, From Wisconsin”? #universityofidaho#argonaut#oldcartoons#politicalcartoons#asui#govandals#art#artstagram#cartoonist shouldve used pen but I used #pencil. As always, points are awarded for awesome cover art. ‘Argonaut’ by Leifur James from his recently released album A Louder Silence for sure gets some in this case. In EP20 we listened to tracks by two different UK electronic music producers. Where as Jon Hopkins’ ‘Luminous Beings’ worked with a delicate and sequential touch, James’ work in ‘Argonaut’ is much more brash, nonlinear, and destabilizing. It’s a fascinating exercise in how the introduction of different instruments or sonic elements can subvert the course of a melody, hijacking it’s momentum and tone. ‘Argonaut’ begins in almost the exact opposite way ‘Luminous Beings’ does. A starry and twinkling prelude exudes calming ambience, only for it to abruptly cut out. It’s replaced with stalking, almost invasive columns of granular tones. It sounds like something from the Untouchables score, which was all kinds of tense. Interspersed is aggressive and disruptive piano strikes. A searing synth tide slowly rises as if to consume it all, it’s predatory tension building. However, instead a shuffling and funky percussive mix of snares and high hats drops in out of nowhere, followed by bellowing and digitized synth swells. Sultry and coy jam guitar lines cut through the background, leading you to begin to wonder what exactly is going to happen next. With the sporadically fierce synth strikes, guitars teetering on the highest of perceptible notes, and slightly gothic sirens shining through the jazzy drums, it’s a miracle it all coalesces into something so marvelous. With ‘Argonaut’, James proves himself to be a master of controlled chaos, and it’s exciting to see how far he’s willing to take it. Check out the track on our EP20 Apple Music playlist. Protože jaký si to vysníš, takovou pohádku si pak žiješ ❤️ ... 😶 ... ❤️ ... No a tom přesně ten život je, žejo. O blbých náhodách, paradoxech, štěstích v neštěstích a o tom, že život se naplánovat prostě nedá, ani kdyby ses posral. ❤️ #argonaut . . . . . . #instadaily#photooftheday#instaphoto#instagramers#iphone8plusphoto#bestoftheday#instalove#iglifecz#vsco#afterlight#dog#doglover#dogstagram#vtahu#dogphotography#dogsofinsta#instadogs#bestwoof#dogsadventure#dogtrekking#nature#lesemsepsem#mydog#winter#snow#forest#love#dogsthathike#horskyholky
“I thought you were done with bike racing,” they said. Lately, a lot of people have been asking me what I’m doing “training”. That’s fair. But to clarify, I never said I was done racing bikes — just done with that road racing business. Instead, I’m entering the new year with a reframed perspective on what it means to race a bike at all. And this guy right here is helping to reshape that focus just as earnestly as he is reshaping the emergent gravel bike industry. • Since its founding, @argonautcycles has offered just one model of their custom-geo, American-made carbon road bike. Featuring a custom layup process, the Argonaut varies in frame thickness based on not only the size of the rider (think Specialized’s Rider-First project), but also the rider’s expected usage. Even power output is taken into account in each build — a feat that large-scale manufacturers simply can’t sustain. • After seeing the explosion in the new gravel sector, Argonaut has launched their first alternate version of the original module, dubbed the GR2. Rather than simply slapping longer chain stays on their road module to accommodate larger tires, the GR2 is reengineered from the ground up, retaining the parts that have always made Argonaut unique while reworking the bits that differentiate a gravel bike. • Production delays inherent in sharing a carbon tubing manufacturer with rocket ship builders has meant that my new Argonaut isn’t quite ready to take back to the desert with me while I finish up the last bit of 2019 season preparations. But Ben tells me it’s getting very close. And I’m possibly even more excited after yesterday’s factory visit right here in Bend than I was when he first told me that he’d be happy to see me on an Argonaut for the upcoming gravel season. I’m looking forward to announcing a full schedule soon, in addition to a profile of some other instrumental partners in making this new gravel project of mine a reality. But
