#obrtip Eat an anti-inflammatory diet. 🤗🥗 Fresh berries and seasonal fruits, vegetables like broccoli, asparagus, beets, olives, mushies (fungi), spinach & cabbage are all packed with phytonutrients and antioxidant properties + fish high in Omega-3 fatty acids like WILD salmon mackerel & tuna!
And...we known there’s a link between inflammation and brain 🧠 health, From depression to dementia. There’s now an offshoot of psychiatry dubbed ‘nutritional psychiatry. Adopting an inflammation fighting approach to how we eat may help, which is not necessarily a one size fits all diet approach, or even the same dietary approach across the lifespan-this is an important point, and something fad diets and a lot of fad diet promoting ‘influencers’ miss the point of! There are certain similarities to ‘healthy diets’ (ie minimizing processed foods, maximizing whole foods) but as I emphasize over and over again, there is variation based on our biology/ethnicity, that we’re learning more about. And, that certain dietary approaches may be indicated and okay in the short term, but won’t pan out for long term health. #yourbodyisyourgoldstandard#foodnotfads#respectyourbiology#antiinflammatorydiet #ipostat2ambecauseihaveatoddler #brainhealth#nutritionamdbrainhealth#nutritionalpsychiatry
Environmental Risk Factors for IBD: an umbrella review of meta analysis (observational studies) 2019. . 71 environmental factors reviewed and 9 considered to increase risk: smoking (CD), urban living (CD, IBD), appendectomy (CD), tonsillectomy (CD), antibiotic exposure (IBD), oral contraceptive (IBD), soft drinks (UC), Vitamin D deficiency (IBD) and non- Helicobactor pylori like enterohepatic Helicobactor species (IBD). . 7 factors reduce risk of IBD: physical activity (CD), breastfeeding (IBD), bed sharing (CD), tea consumption (UC), high levels of folate (IBD), high vitamin D (CD), Helicobactor infection (CD, UC, IBD). . All of these associations were of high to moderate strength. Method quality varied considerably among meta analyses. Some associations were based on findings from retrospective studies so it’s not possible to determine effects or results of recall bias. . High quality prospective studies are needed, but an interesting starting point.
So y’all probably know I’ve been going kinda CRAZY in the kitchen while Chad was away for the week-👩🏼🍳 And honestly, I used to HATE cooking believe it or not. I’d make my brother do it alllll for me while growing up...sometimes I’d even promise him a backscratch or that I’d do his homework if he made an extra box of Mac n cheese for me😂 - But now, It’s honestly one of my FAV. ways to unplug... Just turn some Queen B on & go to town with my fav. seasonings & ingredients & GET TO COOKIN’🎉 - I call this one, “beets & cheese” - RECIPE: 1. 1 cup of Kale; sautéed in coconut oil & brags amino acids. 2. 1/2 a large beet; sliced & roasted in coconut oil + a dash of sea salt. 3. 4 teriyaki-pineapple chicken meatballs from @aidellssausage heated on a skillet 4. A scoop of sauerkraut on top- (I like @bubbiespickles best😍) 5. And a @lundbergfarms rice cake, lightly toasted & smothered in @daiyafoods cheddar shreds w/ just a sprinkle of nutritional yeast on top.🤤 - And CAN I just tell ya again if ya don’t already believe me, that this combo is TO die for. Like salty, sweet, an savory all at the same time.... AND-it’s all GF/DF & actually super good for you too.😍👌🏽 But honestly, you should just try it for yourself ;) - Who else loves cooking in their free time?! (If ya do, what’s YOUR fav. Cooking playlist?!👇🏽👇🏽👇🏽)
#transformationtuesday!!! 💪🏻 As the inflammation in my face decreased, so did my need to wear more makeup. I was happy, confident, and content with a more natural look, and that’s because I was more comfortable in my own skin. I owe it all to #arbonne30 which helped me finally find the inner peace I was always looking for. Don’t get me wrong - I still love to dress up and rock some killer makeup, but on a daily basis I’m happy that I can feel confident walking out of the house fresh-faced thanks to the results of my Arbonne nutrition, skincare, and makeup 🥰
