So after my girls both podium on Saturday they said “mom you have to podium tomorrow because we did” no pressure right? I wanted to podium being my last race for the year. I told my running coach Mark Batres I want to make podium my last race. Thanks to @mgbracing he has improved my running mechanics and I was able to get faster this year. I did already have that mindset that I was going to and after both my girls did I knew I had too. 🤷♀️ It was a great race and let me just say I was thrilled to have the lead for some miles but knowing the world champion @kacole41 was going hard to catch me I pushed it hard as I could. Then she did. I can’t complain when someone is faster then you and you can see them and stay with them you push harder then you would by yourself. The battle is fun and without one not as much. Super excited to end my last two races in 2nd place and burpee free. This was also the first time I placed 2nd in all age groups overall women. My amazing team knows I have been battling a foot injury for the whole year. Only being able to run 2-3 days a week and honestly if it wasn’t for all the therapy I do to be able just to run at all I would never even been able to do what I did this year. Thanks to @srl ahchirosports and @therxperformance for helping me to be able to perform without them no bueno. 🙅♀️ So now I need to be smart no more running for me so I can have a complete healing and get back to it when I am 100% healed. #spartatwc2018 Post 3: Spartan Race Beast in Sparta Greece November 4rd. This was THE most challenging and longest race of my life and happened to be held on the most challenging weekend of my life. Third and last race over the two days... and it didn’t disappoint. 19.4 miles clocked with over 4500ft of elevation gain. That’s not a beast... that’s a FLIPPING BEAST! Let’s not forget that I had completed nearly 16 miles the day before. This sure was a championship series. We traversed rugged terrain, mountains, trails, and rivers of Sparta, Greece. We jumped out of water to climb over 10 foot walls. We swam underneath barbed wire. We carried heavy shit. And then carried more heavy shit for miles. We helped build a road for a local farmer. We sprinted through olive and orange groves. We traveled in pitch black tunnels. Water supply was limited to 8 stations. No map was given to us, so it is hard to confirm how many obstacles there were, but rumor has it that there were about 50+. These obstacles included some US favorites, some SR Europe versions of ones I was used to (including a slicker walled Olympus), and ones exclusive to SR Europe. (More drags and carries than we usually get in the states and a balance component). This was the most incredible experience and challenge. It pushed my limits. I started the race very sore... warmed up to feel not as sore... and finished the race even more sore. This race pushed me hard. This weekend pushed me hard. I lost 8 pounds of body weight. In the end, I felt like the luckiest human alive. I felt strong. I felt thankful. A year earlier, i had stumbled. I fell back into my drinking ways. And now this year... I know I haven't posted in awhile, I've been very busy focusing on my job and my personal life. But don't get me wrong the training hasn't stopped💯 💣Farmer Carry💣 I know I've posted the workout pic before, but had to throw it up again because of my last race. I've always included this exercise in my leg days and finally I actually came up to an obstacle that required me to do something very similar. I seen countless people stop, not able to carry the jugs, even just fail it. However, I powered through the pain and completed it without stopping. I persevered through the pain and made it happen on the course regardless of the pain. So moral of the story always be prepared for the unexpected. Train for every possible outcome, because it will always be the one kink in the armor that you weren't ready for that determines the outcome of a race. . . #spartanrace#trifectatribe#trifectabound#spartanba18 #ambsdr.

So when I thought about what jersey to wear for that race, my Team Blind Pete jersey made the most sense. No Excuses is the motto Pete and Joey live by and that was my goal as well. Finish that race. Ich war heute, zusammen mit meinem guten Freund Henning, trainieren. Bei mir gab es ein solides Rückentraining. Also RUDERN, LATZIEHEN... Was man halt alles so tut, um eine starke Rückansicht zu bekommen. 😁😎 Abgeschlossen habe ich mein Workout heute aber noch etwas anders. Und zwar, indem ich funktionell trainiert habe, um (u.a.) an meiner „Mind-Muscle-Connection“ zu arbeiten. Es heißt ja so schön: „To become an athlete, you gotta train like one!“ ☝️ Übersetzt also: „Um ein Athlet zu werden, musst wie einer trainieren!“. Und das mache ich mittlerweile nicht selten. Und es hilft mir dabei, eine komplett andere Muskelstruktur und einen komplett anderen Stoffwechsel zu bekommen. Jedenfalls möchte ich Euch diese Übung hier (u.a.) durchaus and Herz legen! Ziehen und gleichzeitig die DRÜCK (PUSH) Bewegung ausführen ist schon eine koordinative Geschichte, die zum einen echt Laune macht & zum Anderen Eure Muskelansteuerung (die neuronalen Verbindungen) Echt verbessert! 💪👍 Auf diesem Wege..: TESTET‘S MAL!
