Now I ask myself, what is all these I feel, what is all these I smell, what is all these I see? There are no words that can correspond to this feeling. If only there existed the way to explain, maybe they could understand the why to all I am this moment. It's not impossible neither probably, that someone, some day, could fill this hole I always lament. | me
can you guess what book I’m reading? 🔎🔐🏠 ——————————- I have been lately doing some series reading and when i was at the School library 📚 the ultimate Sherlock Holmes series caught my eye 👁 so decided why not give the book a shot and i have been obsessed with everything, the twists and turns, the detailed storyline and the plot line.——————————- Blurb: Here are the most involved and complex adventures of the worlds favourite detective. Read in order, they take Holmes from the very beginning of his career to its climax. 𝘈 𝘚𝘵𝘶𝘥𝘺 𝘪𝘯 𝘚𝘤𝘢𝘳𝘭𝘦𝘵 appeared in 1887, the first appearance of the character who has since become an international legend for the intricacy of his detective work, the eccentricity of his behaviour and the brilliance of his mind. 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘏𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘥 𝘰𝘧 𝘉𝘢𝘴𝘬𝘦𝘳𝘷𝘪𝘭𝘭𝘪𝘦𝘴 (personally my favourite) is Holmes most renowned case, taking the detective and his study companion Dr Watson to the wild pagan country of the west of England to do battle with a monstrous moor-stalking beast. Only it turns out to be darker and more terrifying than even this.. With 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘚𝘪𝘨𝘯 𝘰𝘧 𝘍𝘰𝘶𝘳 and 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘝𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘦𝘺 𝘰𝘧 𝘍𝘦𝘢𝘳 (another one of my favourites) providing equal portions of suspense, brilliance and excitement, this collection shows the mind of the master detective working on its complicated problems! “How often have I said that when you have excluded the impossible whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth.” ✨✨ ——————————- #aestheticbooks#bookstagram#books#sherlock#sherlockholmes#reading#book

#writeupjuly How do you get to know your characters? . . . Typically, when I get a story idea, it's a character name or trait. I think create a Pinterest board and start creating a feeling/aesthetic for the character. Sometimes that aesthetic changes over time, but I've found that my characters are what stay the most consist when I start actually writing. When I have a sort of aesthetic/feeling for them, I like to start digging into their backstory. What's their family like? What are their dreams and disappointments and failures? Basically, I just start asking a bunch of questions about them and start writing out a stream of thoughts that often leads to other thoughts. When I feel like I have a good grasp on their backstory, I'll start developing them by outlining the story and figuring out their deepest darkest secrets and their longings and their character arcs. . . . #storybooksummerchallenge Motley Crew I love the crew in @linzyafranklin's The Story Peddler and The Story Raider! Talk about a motley crew of misfits!
🌊Do you have books collecting dust at home? Today's post isn't a book review. Instead, I would like to introduce you to @booksbeyond.borders. @brawryan , and his team at @booksbeyond.borders have started a campaign which aims to give children (from less developed countries) a chance at education. I think that it's really noble to start a non-profit organisation because it isn't easy. This campaign is called #1000readers . The goal is to gather 1000 readers, who are able to contribute 2 books each, to the intiative. More books are welcomed! The donated books will be sold at a fundraiser, and the funds will be used to purchase educational materials for the kids. I've decided to contribute 7 books. Namely, #allmysecrets (i had alot of fun reading this one), #nofixedaddress#chickensoupfortheteenagesoul #chickensoupforthesoulgrowingup #howtobebad, #dramarama, as well as #thedisreputablehistoryoffrankielandau I felt really heartened when I stumbled upon this campaign. I hope that my tiny effort makes an impact! 💗 If you reside in Singapore, head over to @1000readers bio to find out more!
“It is important to know what real civilisation is, and to understand Greece and Rome, upon which ours is founded” I borrowed this book from my school library last September and I enjoyed every word of it.
Do you gravitate towards a particular genre in the summer? I seem to like picking up books in a rural setting/books with strong links to nature. I think they just remind of my childhood home and summers in the countryside. Here are some books with natural elements and landscapes that I really enjoyed or can’t wait to read. Can you recommend any more? - 📚 Favourite genre to read in summer #immortaljuly2k19 📚 #whateverwednesday#readingwhalejuly19
