‘Remember... no matter how much it hurts right now, one day you’ll look back and realise it made you stronger’ 💪👊💜💙 This final pose represents a lot to me... it was the final routine I ever did. The last of 10 World Championships, where I had had the absolute honour of representing my country at what I love. I remember feeling the best I’ve ever felt after a routine, ever! I didn’t come away with the gold, instead a beautiful bronze, BUT I still felt like an absolute champion because I gave it my all in that final routine. Not many people know this but I came into this event with a torn cartilage in both my wrists, a ruptured ligament in one of my ankles and spasms in my lower back; my body was done! Excuses are not something I focus on so I did everything possible to get myself physically and mentally ready for this event. I was at physio daily for my back and ankle, seeing medical specialist for my wrists, I did everything I possibly could do - looking back now someone or something was really trying to tell me to stop and rest... 🙃 But mentally I wasn’t ready to let go, yet! I wanted to do one more, I wanted to finish the training and complete the championships on a high. I started training my mind and mentally training on the days my body just couldn’t keep up. I would train the routine over and over in mind, slowly and perfectly. The mind is amazing! Train your mind just as much as your body. Now I get to rest, well as much as you possibly can with three little kids 😂, but if I had given up back then I would have regretted it for the rest of my life. Give everything you do 💯! Never give up! Yes, that’s an ankle brace...zon’t ask 🙄 This week has been challenging, but I’ve yet to be defeated! This week’s mottos have been #noexcuses and #pushthru. Although I’ve been falling sick and dealing with an ankle sprain (add in work stress, life stress, exhaustion, and having a busy schedule) I didn’t let that stop me from making it to events and making sure I got my workouts in 💪🏽 Go to my stories to tell me things you needed to make no excuses for and ways you had to push through! 🙌🏽
Great turn out at 2019 FCMB Family Fitness Day! The day was full of colourful, exciting and upbeat outdoor physical fitness activities, medical check ups, healthy cooking competition, football matches, aerobics and a host of variety of games for children and adults alike. Al igual que antes de empezar a entrenar, y después de estirar un poco, me gusta terminar saltando a la comba, sólo que este caso voy variando la intensidad para subir un poco las pulsaciones y meter trabajo aeróbico. . Al principio lo hago más relajado, ayuda mucho a ir subiendo poco a poco la temperatura de los músculos para evitar posibles lesiones durante el entrenamiento, eso sí, sin meter intensidad para no fatigar mucho los músculos y que no afecte al entrenamiento. . Me encanta, porque además de que me divierte, es un ejercicio que tiene múltiples beneficios, entre ellos la mejora del sistema cardiovascular, por ser un excelente aeróbico, la mejora de la coordinación, y por supuesto, es un ejercicio que trabaja absolutamente todo el cuerpo, además de no tener un gran impacto articular. . En mi caso, es una comba lastrada, tiene unas pesitas en el mango para darle un trabajo extra a los músculos y las sesiones sean más efectivas,...y agotadoras claro 😅😅 .
