If you know me, you know that I take my education seriously. It’s an opportunity that I don’t take for granted because it is in fact an opportunity. Education is not promised. Way too many people around the world don’t even get the option of getting an education, much less a degree. I tell myself that all the time to stay humble. I could’ve been born into a different family, in a different community, country or continent. I could be one of those people who didn’t have the option. But I was lucky enough to be brought into a part of this world that provides me with a choice. And I cherish it. With that being said, today I won an Academic Excellence Award. I achieved this award because I’ve maintained above a 3.75 gpa throughout my college career. It’s not because I force myself to do the work, it’s because I fall into it. I fell in love with the idea of gaining knowledge! Even if I’m taking a class that doesn’t pertain to my degree, I still appreciate learning something new. It’s so cool! But most of the time I’m so go-go-go that I don’t take the time to appreciate my achievements. But today I got to slow down and express gratitude to my college, my work-ethic, and most importantly the fact that I got this opportunity in the first place. And of course I love that I got to share this experience with @sydneykeizer_ and @kaylabuugs thank y’all for supporting me💕
