Don’t let the picture fool you. 10 mins before I was debating on whether or not to order a chocolate chip cookie🙈 I text my friend Rachel, she reminded me to think about how I would feel tomorrow and told me to drink another shake. I don’t deprive myself and trust me, I will NEVER give up chocolate chip cookies🤣 but there is BIG difference in having a treat versus eating your feelings. Being able to recognize that has been a game changer for me!! Today's workout was chest and triceps as you can see by the time I got to tricep push-ups I was struggling 😂 I wasn't able to show before this point because I had to charge my batteries for my camera😂 Then it was time to head outside and Ike likes to scope things out and then come running like a freight train🚂😂 Then he made me run. Think we both got our workouts in today. At least he loves to exercise. ❤️ He ended up going back downstairs and playing with his fitboard. Guess he deserves the nap he is taking right now. . Can we just take min to celebrate this woman right here. I’ve had the privilege to get to know her ( virtually) with my group and she has taught me so much just such a short period of time. . . . Her Journey to how she’s gotten to were she is now is so inspirational. I get inspired daily with this amazing team of mine. I can’t even imagine doing this on my own as I had in the past. . . . On the twelfth day of Christmas advice to my 12 year old self would be...play team sports. . A little friendly competition never hurt anyone, except for that time you had your brace face smashed in with a volleyball. Killed your tooth, but you won’t find that out for another year when you get your braces taken off. . Just because you chose to play sports like Field Hockey!?! That weren’t your strong suit, you belong on a team. Maybe the track team, soccer or even the drill team which you so adamantly were against because “it wasn’t for real dancers”. . Being on a team sets you up for so much more, not just a pick up game. Team sports develop accountability, pride and humility, confidence, competitiveness and friendship. They say ”Karma’s a bitch!” well... that’s for sure! Today in my City HIIT class (12:15 Thursdays!) it was a Push Up extravaganza. Push ups are so hard and often disliked because they feel like a struggle, technique is also often not so good and then guess what happened my PT had me doing my favourite 😩 jumping pushup🤦🏽♀️ supersets with bench press! 🤣 YAY! 😝 @therese.arno
I challenge you to actually track how much you spend per person daily on food. Include EVERYTHING: drive thru fast food, vending machines, grab and go snacks by the register, sodas, sit down restaurants, snacks, gas station coffee or snacks, groceries... everything. Do you spend more than you realize? Most people do...I did! I was spending $35 daily at least! Now I spend less, eat more, and weigh less! So does Amber! Let's give her a hand on her progress! 'It’s amazing to me how I’ve went from tired 😴 with no energy, to having enough energy to accomplish all I set out to do and not be exhausted. When I started this program I was worried it wouldn’t work for me, concerned it was going to cost way more then I was already spending on food, and worried people where going to say I don’t know why you did that program. Despite all of those worries I knew God had brought something amazing in my life that I had to do. I can gladly say I have found all these worries to be wrong. I started my program January 10th and as of July I have lost 60 lbs 🙌🏼. The strength is within YOU! What I like most about @ShaunT is how he's truly in it for US. his videos are full of motivation and inspiration. Every time I do a workout with him, even though he's on the other side of the screen, I really feel as though he's invested in my fitness journey! Like he's right there with me. He's always got something awesome and positive to say that resonates with me! THIS is my favorite workout. Ever. Of all time. Every time I go back to it I find I can conquer more aspects of it. This time around it was keeping pace with the cardio and lifting. I full body sweat!! I still haven't tried Transform 20, but i know it will be just as amazing or more amazing than Shaun week! I can't wait. Today was a struggle, my knee has been balking at all this jumping around, locking up, crunching. It feels both loosey-goosey and also tight and inflamed. Currently im elevating it, and I should ice it. I think i need to look into a knee brace or knee support. Any suggestions?? . I was thinking today about potential ways I could be sabotaging my journey. To be able to stop and think about my habits, to be able to consciously take a good hard look at my daily caloric intake, is something I've never be able to do before. This is a huge step in the right direction! Remember: everything you put into your mouth counts. There are no invisible calories. I understand there are two ends of the spectrum, and that it's all about balance. but as someone who has struggled to admit this.... it's huge for me. Flashback to yesterday when my team and I got to have a call with the man, Shaun T 😍 Look, I know some of you probably read my posts, watch my stories and think eww gross. What’s she trying to hustle. Why is she DMing me? BLOCK BLOCK BLOCK 😂🤣😂🤣 I know some of you are doing that, because I was YOU! I would see these posts and think 🙄 girl, please...unfollow ✅ I was the biggest hater. (Seriously, I apologize 🤷🏻♀️🤣) But I had a come to Jesus meeting with myself. I was unhappy. I had GAINED weight since having Asher. I knew I had to get it together. I knew I didn’t want time away from my family. I had already spent hundreds if not thousands on unused gym memberships and gimmicks that’s didn’t work. I had to find something that fit my life. Fit into my crazy schedule with work and family. So here I am. I’m happier, healthier, and I’m helping other people feel the same. 🙌🏻 Have you ever done something so amazing and it’s all you can talk about? Not to brag, but because you want everyone else to know it’s possible or to know how it’s done?! That’s me every day! I’m so excited to share my life, story, and struggles because my life has transformed. Did I ever in a million years think I’d be here? Hah absolutely not. Did I ever think I’d be on a call with Shaun T or even care about him? Heck no! 🙅🏻♀️ I would of laughed if you would of told me this path was in my future. 🛎FEEL FREE TO TAG THEM. It's odd to me that in the public eye I hear so many cops mention community policing, but they are usually unresponsive to emails and calls. If they do answer, there is no follow through or they speak TO YOU and not with you. 🤷🏾♀️
I love getting stronger every single week! It just feels good. And just when you think did that last workout do anything for me?...You are able to bump up the weights so YES I guess it did!!! 😁 ... Many people prefer cardio over weights because you burn more calories in a short time but it’s the combo of doing both that is key. Cardio is a quick burn of calories, strength training burns calories for a longer period of time as your body repairs the breakdown of tissues. Add both to your workouts for better long-term success. ... Happy Wednesday!
Let me tell you, I am so so PROUD of myself for being able to do what I did during my workout!! 💪🙌😊I only did 20 minutes, but I’m goin to try a minute longer each time(if my body allows me of course). ☺️My belly button felt like it was tugging by my large incision when I was jumping so I also had to stop and take a breather 😅. I’m not surprised by all of this though because I haven’t been working out and I just had surgery😂, but still pushed through as long as I could. That’s all that matters in my book 💪🙌!!
To not overshadow Monday Motivation I decided to hold off posting this until now but Monday was by far my best day in terms of achievements doing CrossFit. Not only did I hit a PR and get a 235# Power Clean. I also fully RXed the workout and finished (7:46) for the very first time... But that is not all... Pardon my still existent gut but I hit Toes to Bar for the first time ever and am too proud of myself to give af about my stomach!! Ironically all of this fit right into my Monday Motivation (and I made that video before any if this happened) but because I work my ass off every day I am in the gym and never short cut myself, I was able to get to this point. I remember these pictures being taken. The first one I remember Ryan asking to take a pic of me on our vacation and feeling SO uncomfortable, despite the smile. I’m thankful he truly has always found me beautiful. . I was wearing jeans on a hot day in Florida, had a rolled up beer t-shirt and felt ugly. Felt sluggish. Felt like this was my life and it'd always be this way. I felt defeated every time the weather would rise above 60 and I'd have to choose- sweat it out in jeans or feel SO uncomfortable in a skirt or, gasp... shorts. . Now, this isn't a post about all of that- because I've come a LONG way and that woman does represent someone I'm proud of. It represents the past me, who taught me so much- and began to believe in herself again. . 2019 is going to be a big one with lots of breakthroughs for my private clients. Why? Because 1 on 1 coaching and accountability works. . I think you know you want to join me, you're nervous, you have pre-conceived notions of what this thing I do is all about. But I dare you. I dare you to reach out and say "I'll take you up on that dare!" and let me prove it to you. Let me SHOW you how we do this, the tools we use, the group I am so proud of. . Don't let your "before" picture stop you from creating a during picture. Don't let how FAR you have to go let you stop you. Did you read that? This morning after we did a workout and got packed up and ready we'r took a #lyft over to the grocery store we'r posted on the way back to the airport. We'r thought this was going to be the healthiest and cheapest way to get some breakfast, lunch, and snacks for our flight. It was very successful! Today the trainer I did my kickstart with saw me cleaning a machine I just used and gave me a high five and a “I’m proud of you”. Why do we value community and friendships in this gym so much? Because sometimes it is easy to intellectually know something (like this quote), but putting it into practice is a whole other ball game. That is why we NEED our burn sisters. They can swoop in during those times when you are discouraged, or read this quote and still think, “meh, Whatever I’m still done.” They can be that voice that over powers the one in your head telling you that you can’t. They can lift you up and help you reach your goals. No one has to do anything alone.
