I’m going be a little early and post this Top Nine of 2018. Thanks everyone for following along. I’m grateful for all of you. And I can not wait to see what next year brings. To some that I don’t see, I apologize. These algorithms are messy.

The Eckley Miners’ Village was an old patch town where coal miners lived. Lined along the roadway are the old dwellings. I walked into one and was greeted by Mark Coxe Prime, 61, of Chester County, Pa. Prime was the great nephew of Eckley, who the town was named after.  And he gave me a history lesson, while sitting near the window. After he was done, I asked him how long it took him to grow that thing. He told me his mustache stopped years ago but his beard just keeps on growing. His family calls him the ‘Werewolf of the Village’. 12.1.18

Ibrahim Almeky, president of the Islamic Association of Northeast Pennsylvania and imam of Masjid Al-Noor mosque, prays during an interfaith service at the Temple of Israel synagogue. “I’ve listened to lectures from Christians and rabbis.
