365 days. May 2nd, 2020. —— Special shoutout to @samanthamariephotographie for taking the time to beautifully capture us in and around Avalon during our quick island trip. She is a magician y’all. We 🧡 you Samantha! —— • Fun fact number 1 - next year is a leap year! Which is why 365 starts today. • Fun fact number 2 - my whole outfit head to toe was found at my favorite thrift store. ♻️ —— #acolenewworld#sustainablewedding
One of the most interesting homes I’ve toured in a while...The Wrigley Mansion on Catalina Island. An incredible property with so much history. I can only imagine what it was like during the years when the Chicago Cubs were on the Island. ⚾️💙 If you visit Catalina, I recommend coming here for lunch because the views are spectacular!
Those view from Mt Ada, the former Wrigley mansion! 💛 Did you know that even if you’re not staying at the property, you can join us for a three-course lunch (with a reservation)? Visit link in profile for more info. 📷: @worldwidenate
Much has happened since I checked out on March 6. One is my Catalina trip with my sister.... it was a beautiful week of rest and wonder. We spent the entire time exploring in the golf cart and living in luxury at the #wrigleyresidence on #mtada. I was supposed to return to social media two days ago but I haven’t desired to. I will extend my fast to Resurrection Day but I wanted to pop on once a day for the special observations that take place this week. This Maundy Thursday has me thinking about our Lord’s display and command of love.... To love is to die and we are commanded to love one another. Die to ourselves. Stepping back from social media has allowed me to love better and more fully those right in front of me. It has been amazing. Today’s commission is that of Christ: "A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another" (John 13:34). Do something to show your love for those nearest to you today. ❤️ #maundythursday#catalina#cross @linnnzzzz
William Wrigley, Jr. purchased the Santa Catalina Island Co. and the Wilmington Transportation Co. in 1919 from the Banning Brothers. The “W” flag was originally flown around Catalina Island and Wrigley Field as an indication of the Wilmington Transportation Co. Over time, the “W” was raised at Wrigley Field to indicate a “Win” for the Chicago Cubs. Though the Wilmington Co. no longer exists, the “W” is still flown and is symbolic of Catalina’s connection to Wrigley Field, the Chicago Cubs and the Wrigley family.
During my hosted press trip to Catalina Island, I checked out two options I can recommend for you in terms of places to stay when you @visitcatalinaisland. Both are bookable via their web site. . The first, represented by the first photo in this carousel, is Mt. Ada. The former home of William Wrigley Jr. and his wife when they were on the island in the 1900s, it receives the first light each day and the last. I think it has the best view on the island and room reservations come with an embarrassment of riches in terms of added amenities; such as a complimentary golf cart for the duration of your stay (normally $50/hr), complimentary golf at the island’s course, a credit at the island’s spa, in town dining credit, a 24 hour complimentary Butler’s Pantry with alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages as well as snacks, two meals a day and so much more. It is a @forbestravelguide award winner and a true gem of a property that I’ll be booking for a special occasion trip to Catalina if I have my way. . Right in town, less than 100 steps from the beach, is The Pavilion Hotel, represented by the second photo of what looks like a tropical oasis. This motel-style property, meaning you enter the rooms from outside, is laid out a lush garden. It has a fire pit for maximum warmth factor on those cold nights when you still want to hang out with the friends you travel with as well as nightly wine & cheese hour complimentary for all guests. I had conversations with quite a few staff members and watched them always treat guests with the utmost kindness. It’s a very friendly property with a location ideal for those who want to be right in the heart of it all. . And they’re both just a short ferry ride away from Los Angeles on the @catalinaexpress. Thank you @catalinachamber for hosting the #voyagersincatalina together with the above named entities this week. As always, and particularly when I’m not paid, all opinions are my own! . . . #visitcatalinaisland
We did a thing yesterday and now we’re married 🙃 Today is Alex’s 40th birthday. I was still struggling to figure out a birthday gift like a week ago. Then I though 🤔 what about a surprise marriage? It was perfect. I was 💯% certain this was exactly how we had to get married. I decided this 5 days before wedding day so it was a busy week. 💁🏼♀️ We were already going to Catalina for the weekend so after we landed on helicopter we went to lunch at this awesome place. I had the waiter suggest to us to take a walk down some stairs to this awesome vantage point 🏔 As we walked down Alex goes “Is that Passion Fruit?”. It was. It was my friend @tylervarnell playing it on sax 🎷. Enter the amazing @melanie.sylim 📸 hiding in the bushes taking pics. I then asked Alex if he’d like to get married today. There was never a human more surprised. He was like, “What? Noooo, you’re kidding... are you serious?? YES!!” 💍 So that’s where this first picture starts. After we “got ready” aka pinned a flower to his shirt and grabbed my bouquet. The pictures tell the rest of the story. It was the most perfect ever. ❤️ I now present to you for the first time on @instagram Mr. and Mrs. Alexander Nicholas ❤️ Oh yea, Happy Birthday, Husband. #epicnicholas Special thanks to @tylervarnell for doing this last minute and playing amazing music on saxophone for us. Thanks Courtney for holding the Facebook live vid for our family and letting me steal your husband on his only wedding free weekend. If you guys need a live sax player hit up @tylervarnell !! Thanks to @melanie.sylim for coming on late notice to do photos and turning around these AMAZING photos in like 12 hours. Can’t wait to share more with you all. Thanks @rosemaryvivian for all of your help behind the scenes 😘 #virtualmoh#stragerstyle
👑 CASSIDY NICHOLAS 👑 Of course @epiccassidy outdid my engagement and gave me the surprise of my life! 👑 After a beautiful lunch at the top of Catalina Island she led me down a pathway to take some “pics”. 👑 Little did I know I was walking into the BIGGEST & GREATEST surprise of my life. 👑 I hear a saxophone in the distance playing one of our favorite songs and this girl (@melanie.sylim) taking pictures of us which I thought was really weird. 👑 Cassidy grabs my hand and says, “You want to get married today?” 👑 I said, “Are you serious?...Your kidding?....YES” 👑 It was the perfect place at the perfect moment with the perfect person 👑 Cassidy you have beaten me again....and made me the happiest man alive!!!! 👑 (Oh, and I turned 40 today but who gives a f$&k about that now!) 👑 #cassidynicholas
In honor of our Wrigley Centennial Anniversary we are now showcasing original menu items from 100 years ago! We kicked off the celebration with a delicious 4 course meal in the breathtaking Dining Room at Mt Ada. We drew inspiration from the color palette of Mt Ada’s interior and the 1920’s, resulting in a dreamy sea of blue and pastels! Stay tuned for more culinary and historical celebrations on Catalina Island ✨
Take him on a helicopter ride, put him in a room with a view of the island, take him zip lining, and say happy bday!!! 💕💕💕 and don’t forget the 8 hand wrapped gifts 🎁 😋 but who’s counting?? Birthdays are the best!!!!
" - Adolfo Natalini 🗨️✨ #tb#wrigleymansion#avaloncatalinaisland
