Eye opener. Followers of this account will know I’m a big fan of old school California Pinot Noir, so it’s a big statement for me to say this was hands down the best Cali PN I’ve ever had. Not classic Cali but rather much more Burgundian in style. Feels crazy to say, but this bottle was a dead ringer for Leroy. All the classic Vosne spice with perfectly ripe fruit holding on after 23 years. @jimclendenen is a genius. With the Boreal Owl. perfect bottle - really incredible stuff!
2016 Dard & Rino Pitrou has the makings of a delicious natural Syrah...1995 Penfolds Bin 389 is an elegant stunner, slightly meatier Rioja...and 2013 El Carrascu Cider was a very refreshing start to the evening!
