I have watched Horseshoe Bend go through some big changes in 5 years. A little ‘parking lot’ next to the road and a waw-feeling as you reach the Bend. Now; a huge parking lot, a well marked trail, a huge crowd and even a newly built platform with safety bars. Amazing how in a few years the waw-effect can disappear. I also spotted them building some kind of road, so I imagine this little attraction will be $20 next year. Honestly, all these experiences and changes left me with a negative feeling towards Page. A whole tour through Page can quickly lead up to some hundreds of dollars. Maybe the Navajo should offer like a ‘National Park pass’, because all the obligatory tours take away all the fun.
