What a week it has been! From preaching in Goodson Chapel, to having dinner with my favorite cousins in Texas, to hosting an alumni event in Dallas, to hosting another alumni event in Houston. I think I have earned a night of rest and a glass of good communion wine 🤣🤣🤣!
It’s always a blessing to return to spaces that have been influential in my ministry career. Today was one of those days. I was blessed to spend Founder’s Day with the St. Augustine’s University family. When I accepted the invitation, little did I know that this would be Dr. Everett Ward’s last Founder’s Week as President of the university. When I came to St. Aug as an intern, Dr. Ward had just become president of the institution. He and Mother Nita welcomed me with open arms and for that I will forever be grateful. What an honor to be back in this historic and iconic space today.
God sees who you really are and what you really can become. The world does not have the capacity to fully accept you because it does not know what is truly good and beautiful. The world will reject you; yet, still many of you will spend your life trying to please the world. Do yourself a favor— Stop Trying! #mondaymeditation
As we enter into this new year, God is not interested in us investing in resolutions that only seek to replicate blessings. Instead, God is interested in blessings us with the desires of our heart that are solely based upon God’s will for our lives. #mondaymeditation
God’s goodness is not based upon our conditions, but exists no matter what our conditions may be. We cannot control it. We cannot manipulate it. We cannot direct it. We cannot owe it. It is who God is. All we can do is be thankful to be recipients of God’s eternal goodness. #mondaymeditation
