Best bits of Warhol at @whitneymuseum: the Ladies and Gentleman series, featuring trans and drag members of the queer community, incl Marsha P. Johnson (bottom right), and Aretha’s @interviewmag cover ❣️
I had the best time today experimenting with artistic legacy, tattooing, and collage (not to mention my og girl Frances Macdonald). Thanks so much to @fruitbowlcity for your fantastic tattooing, @evanpaulenglish for your gorgeous design, and @hatton_newcastle and @madeleinejkennedy for hosting/curating such a rich exhibition. If you didn’t get a chance to visit today, the intervention is part of Julia Heslop and Ed Wainwright’s lovely ‘Gathering’, on view through 16 Feb.
Today’s the day. Come receive a tattoo inspired by Frances Macdonald from the talented @fruitbowlcity (working at @arthurtstattooemporium), designed by @evanpaulenglish. At @hatton_newcastle until 3pm today!
early Frances Macdonald has the most satisfying right angles and long, attenuated fingers. This is from an 1896 mirror at @glasgowkelvingrove. Just another post to say that I’m so excited to experiment with Macdonald’s legacy this Saturday at @hatton_newcastle link in bio 😍
In all the excitement about the V&A Dundee I don’t want to forego any love for @dcadundee - which remains, in my mind, one of the more successful institutions at combining innovative exhibition programming and community engagement. Got to catch Mike Kelley’s Mobile Homestead there a few weeks ago 👌👌👌
Finally got to see exploding collage at @hatton_newcastle. Shout out to @madeleinejkennedy for such a beautiful and interesting show! I’ll be producing a project next Saturday oct 27 at Hatton, the result of a really exciting collaboration with @evanpaulenglish 🖤 Pictured: works by Linder and Nadia Hebson
I saw Space Shifters at @hayward.gallery and I have to admit I started off skeptical - I don’t usually enjoy exhibitions focusing so wholly on formal elements. But the hype is right and it is good - the exhibition and the space has a great way of unfolding itself.
