Back to where it all began. I just hit the three year mark on this journey and it’s been quite a wild ride! I went from being 30 pounds overweight, to being in the best shape of my life, and now 8 months pregnant. I gained muscles that I didn’t know existed, ran my first marathon and then ran my first ultra marathon. As I’m finishing out the last few weeks of pregnancy, these pictures give me hope. They remind me of what hard work and determination looks like. If I found the strength to make these changes, so can you. If I could complete a workout program from beginning to end, so can you. That junk was tough but it felt GOOD! It feels good being in charge of your body, mind and daily choices. It’s not rocket science, it’s discipline. But I guarantee you, you can still enjoy the beer and food! I mean, you want to enjoy life, right?? I’d love to help you on your own journey of discovering the beauty of health and wellness. A few years ago, I got it in my head that I wanted to write a book. I tried my hand at some short stories and a children’s book about some puppies but I wasn’t really feeling it. 🙃 Then I realized I could write about running. I’ve read so many books around people’s running journeys and I decided, why not?? So one day I just opened google docs and went for it. The words came spilling out. I wasn’t entirely sure what direction I was headed but I just went for it. Over the past few months, I’ve worked hard to keep it going (because life is BUSY). It’s something I really enjoy and maybe something that’ll benefit other people. I’m still not entirely sure on my full direction but I decided to get the ball rolling with an Ebook. It’s my take on all things for beginner runners. I went this route because it’s what I know. I haven’t always been a runner, I kind of just decided to go for it one day. In additional to some help from google and some friends, I’m pretty much self taught. 🤷🏼♀️ Maybe one day I’ll turn this into a full on book but for now, it’ll be available as an Ebook through my virtual running program, Run Your Heart Out. Back home and relaxing after spending a few hours in L&D triage last night. The doc told me if I had more than 4 contractions in an hour, go in. Well I definitely had that. After drinking tons of water and sitting down, they didn’t go away so we went in. I felt a little guilty or bad. Why? I don’t know. I guess thinking it was all in my head or I was making a big deal out of nothing. But after our last month with this little, I figured it was the smart thing to do. When the nurse went through her routine questions, she asked if I had any anxiety. I was like, umm yeah, I guess the normal amount? She stopped typing and looked at me. She was a little concerned or confused but I just figured that was the norm at this point. Being a pregnant mom is a stressful job. It makes you worry and I’m already a worrier. So yeah, I have some anxiety. I know I should probably work my way out of that but to be honest, I won’t. It’s just me. I’ll hold on to those feeling until I see this little baby and we’re able to bring it home, healthy. 💛💛 Here’s to the next few weeks and whatever it holds! Now let me bake these class project cookies before the rest of the family wakes up. ☺️
Just an update on our little No.2. While the the baby went down the growth curve some more, it seems to be safe to stay in for a bit longer. We are upping scans and tests to be on the lookout for go time. I just wanted to say thanks so much for all of your love, support and good vibes. . Social media is more than just a newsfeed to me. It’s a community. It’s friends, it’s family, and it’s the best support network. Over the last few months, you guys have been insanely supportive. Everyday I pour my heart out to you guys about things I’m passionate about, concerns that I have, lessons that I’m learning and all my mom struggles. All the cool, calm vibes while working from my bed this afternoon.💙I was feeling it a little after my coffee shop shift today so I found the best office in the house. Putting my feet up and cuddling with the kitty helped me push through a 5 page homework assignment plus a little extra coach biz! Life is a straight up whirlwind of school, the coffee shop, coaching, and being a mama. Keeping busy is good, right?? I think I function best with a full load. People say busy people are the ones you want to work with. They are the ones that can multitask and know how to get it all done. They are determined to finish what they start and like pushing themselves to make more and do more. Is that you? Are you a high energy functioner too? It just hit me: we could have another little baby any day now. Hopefully not, but it’s possible. We’re going to weekly doctor’s appointments and following the little bit closely now. We should actually know a lot more Thursday but for now, I’m in slight panic mode. What if I go in Thursday and they say the words, ‘failure to thrive’? We’ll have to deliver? It’s possible. Instead of getting hung up on my million mile to-do list, I’m going to make a mental note to enjoy this time. It’s time to give my little lady some extra love. It’s time for a date night with the hubs. And it’s time to unpack all the baby gear. Sometimes we just have to trust that everything will work out. We have to let go of fears and worries.
