#repost @lizzle109 Feeling right at home in the Cortelyou Library. ・・・ "Something comforting, familiar, and universal is gained with reclaiming the physical presence of the card catalog. The discrete interior space of each drawer, allotted to artists, mixes the familiar and unfamiliar, an uncanny experience of going into the past and finding things not quite as you remember them.” Infinite Archive: NYPL features 30 artists’ responses to a book, a poem, or any other material found in the library. Each artwork presents a complex dialogue between the artist & the text as they are inspired by one work to create one of their own. Paintings, photographs, assemblage, sculptures, you can find all this & more hidden inside each drawer.
Had a great day installing the card catalog at the Kingsbridge Branch of The New York Public Library. Thirty artists respond to thirty works in thirty drawers. Thanks Kingsbridge Library for the shout out today. So happy to be part of your Open House! ....... #art#nypl#nyc#thebronx#library 📚#cardcatalog

So grateful to have a visit from Marina Gonzalez Flores, Program Coordinator from @citizenscommittee on our opening day! We were thrilled to receive a Citizens Committee Neighborhood Grant for this project. Come out and dance to the sweet sounds of Papo Vasquez tonight in Starlight Park from 6-9pm. . . . . . . . . . #brac#starlightpark#citizenscommittee#nycparks#thebronx
One of my favorite things about this project is all the people we meet while taking care of the plants. The watering system is such a cute little unit and it gets the job done. People are always asking about it. Willie, a new friend to IA wanted to share his enthusiasm about our little water truck. He’s such a natural salesman and gives us encouragement while we wheel 31 gallons of water from BRAC to the park. 💙💙💙 #newfriends#northerntool#westfarms#bronxart#community
Starlight Park Social Club nearing the end of install yesterday afternoon. Despite some oppositional forces, we are nearly complete! Just waiting for the plants to establish and some new grass to grow around the center medallion of this outdoor dance floor. Learn more about native plants, dances and music once popular during the parks history by scanning the QR code printed on the side of each planter 👈or just follow the link in our bio. #complete#starlightpark#publicsculpture#parks#plants#bronxart
