• Y O U • D O • Y O U • So many paths people can take in life. My friends are doing all different things: moving to new cities, getting PhDs, running #marathons around the world, becoming big #sisters, ending relationships that aren’t working, raising kids, online dating, adopting babies, finding health and wellness routines that work for them. And you know what? I’m #happy for each of them. Go do you girl! There’s no one right way. Everyone finds their own path that is uniquely theirs. So what sets your heart on fire? That’s the thing to follow ๐Ÿ’š Me? I’m thankful #arbonne came into my life. I get to #coach others on healthy living with  this #badass #squad of friends at my side ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒฟ๐Ÿ‘ฏ‍โ™€๏ธ
• N U M B E R • O N E • I used to think I’d jump in a #relationship so we could “take care of each other.” And, that still stands... to a point. But recently I heard this: “I’ll take care of me *for *you, and you take care of you *for *me.” And I like that so much better. Friends! We have to love ourselves FIRST and FULLY. And that’s no easy task... well, for me anyways. I schedule things in my day to do this work... like reading and writing, meditating and visualizing my goals. I take care of my spirit at church and on a yoga mat, and my health via the food I eat and the products I put on my skin. And that turns into people telling me, “You’re always #smiling when I see you!” and “The #energy in this classroom is so warm.” and students telling me, “I know you’re tough on me but I also know it’s because you #love me.” Since I’ve been more mindful about this personal development, those compliments have increased. And my point, with this silly #snapchat filter? Love yourself first and foremost, and just watch what you attract into your life. Happy Valentine’s Day! • T E A C H I N G • M E • First it was Nancie Atwell. She changed me first. There I was just minding my business, teaching all Behaviorist-like, and she swoops in and I’m done for. In a good way! Because then I became a Social-Constructivist and that #philosophy has stood the test of time in my classroom. And now? Now it’s Dr. Tanda Cook. I never though I’d do anything but #literacy for my entire life. But then I met Dr. Tanda, #naturopathic #physician and #food expert and just an all-around amazing #human. And now? Now I want that ND degree. Just watch. It’s happening. Thank you to these two inspiring #teachers. You have changed my life! โค๏ธ P.S. No idea where to even begin with the ND degree. Who can help?! ๐Ÿ™ƒ
• T H A N K S, • T R I B E • My Mom always says to me, “Michelle, you’re good at everything you put your mind to, so I know you’ll be good at ___ too.” It’s that kind of love and unwavering support I stand thankful for this cold Monday morning. To those family and friends who always get behind me, no matter what I’m into, thank you. * K E E P I N • I T • R E A L • A few months ago, a #friend of mine started complaining about some symptoms she couldn’t explain: breaking out in hives and her skin turning red. Like, it would happen randomly throughout the day. She made a #doctor appt, and got no answers (Western medicine ๐Ÿ™„), but the #symptoms persisted. We talked about it often, and I suspected it might be stress related, so I got her a copy of that book I’ve been raving about, How to Make #disease Disappear (Chatterjee). Symptoms persisted. Couple weeks later I asked if she took a #probiotic, since our gut is the epicenter of our #health. She said no. I sent her some. She had an appointment with a #naturopathic doctor, and the day she got her results back was the day my probiotics showed up at her house. Guess what the doctor prescribed? ๐ŸŒฟ #paleo diet (to eliminate all the junk) ๐ŸŒฟ Probiotics (to heal the gut) ๐ŸŒฟ Supplements (to add health) ๐ŸŒฟ Reading up on all the changes she had to make (because lasting change starts with a change in #beliefs) Guess who had an insight all along, because of our 30 Days to Healthy Living program? ๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿฝ‍โ™€๏ธ Guess whose recommendations would have been all the same, except SIGNIFICANTLY more #affordable? ๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿฝ‍โ™€๏ธ If you experience symptoms like: โŒ migraines โŒ acne โŒ acid reflux โŒ lack of energy โŒ insomnia โŒ brain fog โŒ joint pain โŒ IBS โŒ psoriasis โŒ hot flashes โŒ depression โŒ food allergies we should chat. Finding quiet time or constantly go-go-going? Scrolling social media or adding value to others by posting quality content? Getting rest or staying up late? Making time to move or sitting around? Envisioning the future you want to create or taking whatever happens to you? Spending time with people who lift your spirits and push you to be a better version of yourself or with those who drain your energy? Make no mistake... the place where you put your energy today will determine what your life looks like five years from now. So, what kind of life do you want to create? ๐ŸŽฏ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒฟ๐ŸŒ๐Ÿ’œ

• S W E E T N E S S • Minus the #guilt!  Three ingredient almond butter cups will have you and your #love feelin fine on #valentines Day ๐Ÿ’—๐Ÿซ Ingredients- Almond butter Coconut oil #arbonne Chocolate Protein Powder Mini-muffin foils  Directions- Heat 1/3 cup of coconut oil in microwave, mix 1/3 cup of protein. Fill foils a little less than halfway. Freeze for 15 min, then add a small dollop of almond butter to each. Heat 1/4 cup of coconut oil, mix 1/4 cup of protein again, then top the almond butter. Freeze again for 30 min, then enjoy! ๐ŸŒŸ  Store in freezer or refrigerator.

Is being enlightened all about not giving a f*%& about what others think? • Today when I was reading The #book of #awakening it said, “So, the real and lasting piece for all of us is to remove what obstructs us so we can be who we are, holding nothing back. If we can work toward this kind of #authenticity, then the living #kindness - the water of #compassion - will naturally flow. We do not need #discipline to be kind, just an #open #heart.” • So my challenge to you: who are you people-pleasing with? How about we all try and do us, all the things we #love and bring us #joy and #happiness, and let go of all the stuff in our heads about what others think? How might that feel when we just do all the things that make us #happy? Let’s try this week. Who’s with me? ๐Ÿ’๐ŸŒธ๐ŸŽ€
• S O • S M O O T H I E • My first protein smoothie bowl, inspired by @kelly_hafner, TY for the recipe! I actually had this for dinner last night *and* breakfast this morning... it’s a solid meal! Here’s Kelly’s quick recipe (slightly modified) in case you want to try it out! • Blend: Frozen Pitaya Dragon Fruit (Target!) Frozen strawberries Vanilla protein, Arbonne, ofc ๐Ÿ’๐Ÿฝ‍โ™€๏ธ Coconut water *add coconut water a little at a time to make it thick • Top with your choice, but I did GF oats, blueberries, and kiwi • It’s so beautiful, makes me reconsider my love for cupcakes. I def feel better after all the nutrition here! ๐Ÿ’—๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒฑ
• P E O P L E • P O W E R • There’s an awesome candidate running for #mayor in #chicago, @amaraforchicago - and I met her last weekend! So #smart, #visionary, and all about new ideas to take out #city in the direction that serves all of us, rather than just pay to play, #politics as usual in Chicago. So great to hear a fresh #voice like hers! ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐ŸŒŸ
