Quartz v. Amethyst - Jackson Crossroads, Wilkes County, Georgia, USA. Available, $40. DM for inquiry/info. Nice double crystal of light Amethyst from JXR.
Wulfenite (Floater) - Old Yuma Mine, Pima County, Arizona, USA. Available, $100. DM for inquiry/info. Bright orange floater crystal of Wulfenite from the Old Yuma Mine. Those familiar with Tucson and the Tucson gem show should know that this locality is located about 15 minutes from downtown Tucson and most of the gem shows! Nice size crystal for the species.
Beryl v. Morganite (w/ Albite) - Himalaya Mine, Mesa Grande, San Diego County, California, USA. Available, $85. DM for inquiry/info. Rare pale pink Morganite from the Himalaya Mine. One of the most fruitful mine operations in the San Diego mining region, the Himalaya has not been known as a big producer of Beryl but rather Quartz and Tourmaline specimens.
Amethyst w/ Phantoms (Hydrocarbon(?) fluid inclusion) - Brandberg Area, Goboboseb Mountains, Erongo Region, Namibia. From my personal collection. Swipe to see more photos/fluorescence under UV. A very strange and unique crystal I acquired some years ago, coming from a thumbnail collection with many choice Namibian pieces. There are 2 fluid inclusions and one is yellow. Under a strong, LW UV laser, the yellow inclusion glows a bright greenish, typical of hydrocarbon/“petroleum” inclusions. I have never seen another inclusion like this from Goboboseb, it’s a pretty interesting thing.
Grossular Garnet (rare cube faces) - Vesper Peak, Snohomish County, Washington, USA. Collected 1978/84. Available, $60. DM for inquiry/info. Nice section of clustered dark orange Hessonite Garnet crystals with rare cubic face modifications that Vesper is known for. A classic NW locality!
Purple Fluorite (Phantoms) - Elmwood Mine, Carthage, Smith County, Tennessee, USA. No longer available. Sharp partial single cube of Fluorite from the classic Elmwood Mine. Great color.
Fluorite (Stepped/Phantoms) - Pratclaux, Langeac, Haute-Loire, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, France. Collected March 2018. Available, DM for inquiry/info. Super icy, stepped Fluorite with green and purple phantoms from a small find last year in Southeastern France.
Fluorite (Phantoms, Fluorescent) w/ Celestite - White Rock Quarry, Clay Center, Ottawa County, Ohio, USA. Collected 2007/08. Available, DM for inquiry/info. Killer Fluorite with sharp Phantoms and Celestite from Ohio. Greenish-white under long-wave UV.
Indian Chief in Amethyst - Rough material from Nigeria - Hand carved in Thailand by @artisan_jade. Available, DM for inquiry/info. A great 3D carving in gem quality Amethyst from Nigeria, with a unique inclusion (under his left eye).
Purple Vivianite - Blackbird Mine, Cobalt, Lemhi County, Idaho, USA. Available, DM for inquiry/info. Very rare Purple Vivianite from the Blackbird Mine in Idaho. I have seen a few of these specimens but very seldom do you see these crystal on Matrix as Vivianite is a very soft and fragile mineral.
Sea Turtles ๐Ÿข๐ŸŒŠ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ’ฆ๐Ÿ  in Aquamarine - rough material from Akwanga, Nasarawa State, Nigeria. Hand Carved in Thailand by @artisan_jade. Available, DM for inquiry/info. Swipe to see a close-up video.
Quartz (Growth-interrupted) - Bor Pit, Dalnegorsk, Primorskiy Krai, Far-Eastern Region, Russia. Available, DM for inquiry/info. Crazy Quartz with interruptions caused by Calcite blades that were present during formation, but since have dissolved away. Reminds me of dragon scales ๐Ÿ‰๐Ÿฒ
Sphalerite (Cleiophane) w/ Red Zoning - 3874’ Level, Empire State Mine, Balmat, St. Lawrence County, New York, USA. Collected December 2018. Available, DM for inquiry/info. Amazing gem Sphalerite with red zoning from a recent find in upstate New York. One of the best miniatures I acquired during the Tucson gem show. In love with this unique and rare material! ๐Ÿ’›
Green Tourmaline (2.6g) - Goma, Nord-Kivu Democratic Republic of Congo. Collected 2018. Available, $80. DM for inquiry/info. Nice little gemmy Tourmaline crystal from new finds in the Congo. Saved this small crystal from a tray of cutting rough!
Calcite (Fluorescent) ๐ŸŒˆ๐Ÿ’– - Verkhnii Mine, Dalnegorsk, Primorskiy Krai, Far-Eastern Region, Russia. Ex Rock Currier Collection. Available, DM for inquiry/info. One of my favorite Calcites from a lot of crystals I acquired in Tucson from the Rock Currier Collection. Most of these had a previous generation of calcite growing straight through the center of the crystals, however this one grew at a perfect 90° angle, the only one like it! Lots of rainbow refraction and super fluorescent!
Rainbow Fluorite ๐ŸŒˆ - Bergmännisch Glück flacher, Frohnau, Annaberg District, Erzgebirge, Saxony, Germany. Collected 2008. No longer available. Beautiful color on this rare rainbow Fluorite from the one time find in Germany. Some of my favorite Fluorites in the world ๐ŸŒŽ still have a few of these available after buying a parcel from the miners in 2016. Lots of other German Fluorites available, DM to see ๐Ÿ‡ฉ๐Ÿ‡ช
Octahedral Fluorite (w/ Barnacles shells and Algae) - Zarembo Island, Wrangell-Petersburg Borough, Alaska, USA. Collected 2018. Available, DM for inquiry/info. Beautiful, rare and unusual combination of sea-life and minerals; Barnacles shells grown in a vug of Fluorite from Alaska. The locality is on a beach, so there is sometimes an opportunity for these two kingdoms to collaborate.
Chalcocite (Iridescent) - Lucky Friday Pocket, Flambeau Mine, Ladysmith, Rusk County, Wisconsin, USA. Collected Oct. 1995. Available, $300. DM for inquiry/info. Sharp crystals of iridescent twinned Chalcocite from the famous find in Wisconsin. A great example from this find! The Lucky Friday Pocket was collected on Friday, October 13th and was named for that lucky day. Displays nice metallic hues of blue, purple, and gold.
