*LISTED!* This octopus is looking for a home! Will be listing this little one later tonight. Somehow in between all the custom orders, I managed to make this cute little friend. 😊 It’s an octopus for a preemie and it follows hospital guidelines to be used in NICU. The tentacles remind babies of their mother’s umbilical cord which helps comfort them and regulate their heart rates. More details will be in the listing when it goes up later!
Custom order for a Wolverine hat and matching booties. . ***IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT*** I am closing off orders by November 24th requiring completion in time for Christmas, and perhaps even a few days earlier if I suddenly get an influx of orders. If you’ve been meaning to order something for Christmas, please please please get your orders in now to avoid disappointment. After that cutoff, I won’t be working on new orders until the new year. You’ve been warned. 😉 Thanks for reading!
Who else also has a very soft spot for turtles? 🙋🏻‍♀️ . . . Pattern: @vibemai
Confession: I’ve been cheating on my crochet hooks with some knitting needles. 🙊 This is a toddler hat made for a birthday gift. Hand model: my toddler. She insisted on helping.
Baby A’s momma uses my crocheted bunny in her weekly and monthly progress pics. What a cute idea as not only will you see facial changes when comparing them, but also the bunny will help show growth/size changes as well. 😊
H A P P Y H A L L O W E E N ! In my home, my daughter (Elle) and my dog Jemma always match or complement each other in costumes. This year they’re unicorns! Being an extra small dog at 5 lbs, generally all commercial dog costumes are too loose fitting for Jemma. I did some freehand crocheting (no pattern) and whipped up a unicorn headband for her. Perfect fit and they match so nicely! Swipe to see different angles.
It’s been a minute since I posted, but all for good reason. This is a very busy season for my photography business @kathyluiphoto with families wanting to squeeze in fall and Christmas sessions. I’ve been a busy woman shooting and editing to get all the galleries out as quickly as I can! I haven’t stopped crocheting behind the scenes, however, but it’ll take some time for me to go through and process images of the new creations. So for now, here’s another image of the pumpkin trio set. Can’t believe we’re at the end of October already!
Each piece is finished with a faux leather tag of my logo. I specifically chose to go with faux leather to keep it animal friendly. Recently, I’ve had a couple of people ask whether my pieces would be suitable for someone who’s vegan, and my answer is yes, everything can be made free of animal products. Just let me know! . Now, off I go to finish a baby blanket on my hook and to start another.
Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! I have a lot to be thankful for in life, but to all my friends/family/customers here, I want to say: I am thankful that I get to make such beautiful creations for you. I am thankful for each and every order. I am thankful I get to do what I love and love what I do. Thank you! What are you thankful for?
[SOLD] Happy Tuesday, everyone! I’m taking a small break from my hook today as my right arm is a bit injured, but this little guy is still looking for his forever home! DM to claim him, or buy him in my Etsy shop (link in bio). Order by the end of this week and he will ship free to any Canadian address. 😊
Meet the little Stegosaurus I started and finished while on vacation to visit family! He was a lot of work, but I reallllly wanted to finish him and hand him over to a sweet friend there who had ordered him for a special someone. Mission accomplished! There will for sure be more dinosaur making soon. 🤗 . . . Pattern: Bissy Crowe-chet by Elizabeth Crowe
This isn’t a new project I just finished, but it’s a photo I recently took of a basket I made back in 2016. Three years later and I finally decide to take a good photo of it. 😄 I made it for my daughter (using @1dogwoof’s pattern) while pregnant and awaiting her arrival. It is constantly being used and I still ❤️ it as much as I did on day one. Pretty and practical, the best.
First day of fall, my favorite! I love all the coziness this season brings. These pumpkins are a reflection of the colors I love so much with this season. 😍 These are spoken for, but I might be taking orders for sets of these real soon - stay tuned! P.S. Rattles can be added to them for Baby’s 1st Pumpkins. 👶🏼 . . . Pattern: @crochet365knittoo
Just listed this cute little fella in my Etsy shop! 🦖 Link in bio.
That fish I was working on in my last post...finally swam into its new jar home! I’m a tad bit obsessed with her though, so she’s here to stay as my daughter’s roommate and ‘first pet’. It’s perfect for her as this fish doesn’t need any dirty water changes or require feeding. She’ll live forever and we can even go on vacation without a worry. 😜 Clean and completely fuss-free! Not to mention, this is a pretty cool way for me to keep and display my daughter’s seashell finds. ❤️ . These can be made to order. DM me. . . Pattern: edenreborn
A tiny little 2” fish, made to be part of a larger project.
Excited to finally be able to share this little octopus creation! As some of you are aware, my crocheting started because of a sad story - my son died just before his due date and I desperately wanted to find a creative outlet during a time full of grief. You can read more about this if you scroll back to my second post. . During those first intense grieving days, I found and received a lot of support through moms I met through this amazing IG platform. Many of those mothers became my friends because we had something in common, albeit tragic, and we just "got each other", no words needed. Fast forward a few years later and many of us are now carrying or have rainbow babies. . A loss mom friend contacted me wanting a creation made for another loss mom as she's expecting her rainbow baby and his nickname is Ochie, short for Octopus. I was so honored to be able to make this little guy as it carries such special meaning for all involved. I held off on sharing him because he wasn't gifted yet, but I got news today that he has now been, so here he is! . Pattern: @lefthandedcrocheter Yarn: @Yarnspirations Caron Cotton Cakes (and it was a dream to work with!)
Working on something new! As I walked past the yarn clearance aisle at my local Michaels, a bunch of Bernat Mix Baby skeins caught my eye and I could not leave the store without buying a few. I mean, look at these textures and those colors. 😍
