It's Tell Your Tail Tuesday! To celebrate Adopt a Shelter Dog month we are sharing another adoption story of a Columbus Humane alumni pup! Check out Belle's story told by her adopter... || We adopted Belle 1 year ago and she has absolutely completed our family. Here is the backstory for why we adopted Belle. Two years ago, I lost my sweet boy Pablo (10 year old Chihuahua) to cancer. I adopted Pablo when he was just 6 weeks old. After adopting Pablo, I realized he needed a playmate, so I adopted Piper (she is now 11 years old - long haired chihuahua). Piper knew life with her best friend, Pablo, and was heartbroken when Pablo passed. I have a 4 year old daughter who has not met an animal that she didn't love. She absolutely loves Piper, but she needed a puppy with more energy to keep up with her. So after months of searching and watching, we saw Belle (then Harley) arrive at Columbus Humane. I left work early and picked up the sweet 10 week old girl, and my daughter's heart almost exploded. Belle and my daughter are the best of friends. She does not leave my daughter's side. They are constantly playing on off on an adventure. Belle and Piper are also the best of friends. From the moment we brought Belle into the house. We are so taken with her, that we can honestly say that she has completed our family. I hope everyone gets to experience the love we have in our hearts from our pets." #wemakecolumbushumane#adoptdontshop#resucedog#61fur#dog#dogs#cute#adoptionstory

October is Adopt a Shelter Dog Month! To celebrate, all month long Tuesdays will be "Tell Your Tail Tuesday" when we feature a great adoption story of one of our Columbus Humane shelter dog alumni submitted to us by their adopter! This week we are sharing the story of Molly! • • "We adopted Molly in December 9, 2017. We had a dachshund & a mixed breed dog who both passed away earlier in the year. We were very broken hearted by the loss. Our house felt so empty without a dog, so we began looking on Columbus Humane’s website for a new dog. We saw a dog on the website that looked kind of like the mixed breed dog we had lost. So, we decided to go into the shelter. We saw Molly, whose picture had not been up on the website, and thought she was a beautiful dog, so we asked if we could see her. When a staff member brought her in, she walked in the room and gave us a big sloppy kiss. She seemed so happy to see us. We fell in love with her. Molly has brought great joy to our home. She is such a loving and kind dog and loves to run like a race horse around in our yard. Molly’s favorite toy is her piggy that “oinks” and she has gone through too many piggies for us for us to count. We are so attached to her and she is very attached to us. We call her our “baby girl.” Thank you for bringing Molly into our lives! We love her so much!"
