My search for the most magical Christmas markets led me here to this adorable market under the bridge in Ravenna gorge. The lights turn from blue to purple, pink, gold, green, and red. There's a little river behind the market with decorated trees, and so many talented artists selling their works. If you're picturing a quaint Black Forest town with a magical little Christmas market, this one fits the bill! Swipe to watch the time lapses I took as this market and the chocolate market from Tübingen light up at night. #christmasbawu#visitbawu#spon _____________________ This reflects my opinions only, but I just want to express my heartfelt sorrow and love to those who are suffering because of what happened at the Christmas market in Strasbourg, France. I don’t want to give terrorists any attention, because that’s what they want and they’re pathetic, but I hope that you still come to Europe, still see these beautiful markets, still get to appreciate the culture and feel the love and festivity. These events are few and far between but they are scary, and sad. However I don’t want to let it force me into fear, because then they win and I’m letting love win today.
I went to nine Christmas markets in total this weekend, bringing my grand total up to something like 30, and I think that I found my favorite. The Christmas market at Bad Wimpfen Is just so pretty, and I love that you can keep meandering up the cobblestone streets turning right or left to branch off and find new little courtyards. There are stands selling handmade decorations, delicious food, sweets, and everyone’s favorite - steaming hot beverages. It feels like the whole little town got involved, decorating the houses and making me feel transported back in time. It’s only about an hour north of Stuttgart. I highly recommend this one! #christmasbawu#visitbawu#spon
This is my favorite little town in Germany - Tübingen. When I imagine fairy tales and my inner six year old dreams about the 'olden days' I can't imagine a more perfect example than this university town in Germany's Baden-Württemberg. Today they're hosting the biggest chocolate market in Europe - chocolART. They've got chocolate in every imaginable form - hot chocolate, spicy, chocolate covered fruit, chocolate mulled wine, chocolate EVERYTHING. I was also completely delighted by the light-up buildings at night. Put this on your list for next year or if you're here now, GO! #christmasbawu#visitbawu#spon
Guten Tag from Hohenzollern Castle in Baden-Württemberg! You guys I'm beyond excited to be back here at Christmastime exploring the Christmas markets and eating all the festive food. So far I've visited the chocolate market in Tübingen, the medieval market in Esslingen, and now the King's market at the castle. For those of you who are familiar with this region, tell me about your fave markets! I don't think I can possibly get tired of them. They're all so different and so delicious in their own ways! Check out my stories to see what they look like, and check out @visitbawu for some totally different photos I took of the other markets! #visitbawu#christmasbawu#spon

Every now and then, I ask out loud, ‘what’s it all for?’ I don’t just mean this photo, this app, but everything. What’s the reason? I think people spend their whole lives trying to find the answer. I think for a lot of us, it’s the desire to matter, to last beyond our own lives. It’s why people name benches, university halls, and stadiums after themselves. And maybe that will outlast us for a couple hundred years. Maybe for those who really make an impact, it will last for over 1000. But I can’t name anyone who lived over 10,000 years ago, I have no idea. And when I think about how old and vast this universe is, I feel so much less pressure. I don’t matter all that much, and that sets me free, it makes me relax, because the only responsibility I feel is to fully embrace being alive right here and now. So today I’ll push it a little further, feel the wind in my hair as I look over the edge, and thank life for another day.
Standing at Victoria Falls, One of the seven natural wonders of the world, all smiles on the last day of this #bmtmadventures tour! About a year ago I started putting these group excursions together and so far they’ve taken us to three different continents including hiking in Peru, backpacking in the Alaskan wilderness, and traveling overland through Namibia, Botswana, and ending here in Zambia. Though they’ve all been such different adventures, one common thread has been how blown away I am by the women who show up to take part. You’re all so smart, dynamic, friendly, non-cliquey, and such a joy to be around, I often pinch myself because I just can’t believe that part of my job gets to be hanging out with such cool people, laughing till my cheeks hurt. I can’t wait until our next adventure in Patagonia this March! The spots for that trip have all sold out but as soon as it turns 2019 three new amazing tours will be available: Hiking and chasing waterfalls in Iceland, island hopping in the Galapagos, and swimming with humpback whales in Tonga. Sound exciting? Sign up for the newsletter to be the first to know as spots become available! Link in bio. (📷: @laurnlarue who’s also in the #bemyphotomuse masterclass!)
