Welcome to #pisces season. If you have shopping on the brain, find some things to buy while the Sun transitions through the oldest sign of the Zodiac at the link in our bio 🐟⠀ ⠀ 📷 from AnOther Magazine A/W18, shot by @chris.rhodes and styled by @chloe_grace_press
Designer @supriya_lele explains why she’s obsessed with an extraterrestrial #scarlettjohansson in 2013 film Under the Skin, parts of which were set in Glasgow, in AnOther Magazine S/S19’s AnOther Thing I Wanted to Tell You. “A lot of the conversations she’s having are genuinely off-the-cuff, so lots of people didn’t know who she was. So when she’s like, ‘Where’s the Tesco?’ on the outskirts of Glasgow, people were like, ‘Uh, I don’t know’ – they weren’t like, ‘Is that Scarlett Johansson?’ It makes the film about human interaction.” Lele stages her second solo show at #lfw today ⚡️⠀ ⠀ 📷 by @tomjohnsonstudio, styling by @elizabethfraserbell⠀
#anothercontributors: Paolo @roversi photographs A Dance Between, with styling by @hanneshetta, for AnOther Magazine S/S19...⠀ ⠀ We asked Roversi: Do you remember the first time you worked with @marcascoli? “I remember it very well, even if it happened some time ago – April 1985, a legendary catalogue for Yohji Yamamoto. Everything was new and special: the fashion, the mode, the lighting, my collaboration with Marc, our friendly complicity. How to forget?!” How does your latest shoot for AnOther compare with that first collaboration? “It is difficult to compare a story done for a unique designer – Yohji – with an editorial composed of many different elements, but regarding the two of us, nothing has really changed except the age.” What makes a good picture? “I don’t know... maybe luck, faith, hope, beauty, poetry. I don’t know” ✨⠀
Swipe through for a look at last night’s beautiful @simonerocha_ A/W19 show, in which @chloessevigny, @adutakech, @lindseywixson and Marie Sophie Wilson Carr (@fruitbat2000) walked. And on anothermag.com, read six women’s accounts of falling in love with Rocha’s clothes ❤️⠀ ⠀ 📷 by @daisywalker
On the first day of #lfw, @asaitakeaway staged his first standalone show. We asked four people – @larrydavid420, @claireburman, @dominic.cadogan and @naomielizee – why they love wearing ASAI’s most coveted garment: the hot wok top. “It’s timeless and going to look just as fire in five years as it does now. What he does it just so brilliant.” On anothermag.com now 🔥 ⠀ 📷 is ASAI S/S19, shot by @hendrik.schneider
#anothercontributors: @mimizeiger interviews #sterlingruby for AnOther Magazine S/S19’s Art Project...⠀ ⠀ We asked Zeiger: What first drew you to Sterling’s work? “It is visceral and beautiful, but also taut with the social urgencies of our time.” If you were queen for a day, what law would you enact? “Representative democracy over monarchy.” Is there anything noble about the worlds of art and architecture? “It is so easy to be cynical in the art and architecture world. Nobility finds expression in the daily practices of working, writing and creating, as well as making space in those practices for something larger than the self” 💫 ⠀ ⠀ 📷 is Abduction by Sterling Ruby, 2015
Ahead of today’s @simonerocha_ A/W19 show, read an interview with the designer from AnOther Magazine S/S19, out now. “I’m attracted to traditionally feminine things but looking at them through the guise of today, of reality. Such as pearls – they have become a signature in my work – they’re so ‘old lady’, but I love to reinterpret them,” says Rocha. Link in bio ✨⠀ ⠀ 📷 by @chris.rhodes and styled by @chloe_grace_press⠀
#anothercontributors: Tyler Mitchell (@tylersphotos) photographs A Courtly Dance in Triple Metre, with styling by @robbiespencer, in AnOther Magazine S/S19...⠀ ⠀ We asked Mitchell: How does your work ask you to be bold? “I think my work asks other people, specifically black people, to be bold and to see themselves in ways they may not have considered.” How would you describe your shoot with Robbie Spencer? “We were trying to do something regal, but in a DIY way. We took the clothes to Miami, which could perhaps be seen as stuffy, and photographed them outside – more free-form, on new faces you may not have imagined being dressed in them” ☁️⠀
#anothercontributors: @maxpearmain styles @burberry, shot by #theosion, for AnOther Magazine S/S19...⠀ ⠀ We asked Pearmain: What is the most sublime landscape you’ve seen? “I’m into any sad, industrial coastline. The Kent coast on a wet Tuesday afternoon. Morrissey, eat your heart out.” What was your first job? “Pot washer. I was quite into it.” If you were king for a day, what law would you enact? “Repossess all the empty housing in London and offer it to homeless people. I guess we could start with Buckingham Palace.” How would you describe Riccardo Tisci’s Burberry? “Inclusive, insightful, inquisitive, instinctive.” How did you approach capturing that for this story? “Rianne channelled the idea of something unhinged but chic at the same time. It’s quite Princess Margaret, now that I think about it” ✨⠀
The most spectacular, the most practical, the most relaxed and nonchalant. On the streets of Paris, pieces from the new @leejeans Body Optix x @mrselfportrait denim collaboration are captured on a distinct series of influential and identifiable faces for AnOther Magazine S/S19. Out now ✨⠀ ⠀ 📷 by @maxfarago, styling by @agata_belcen⠀
“How do you speak to @robynkonichiwa without being uncool?” wonders mega-fan @tomglitter, who asked the pop visionary 35 questions. They discussed Robyn’s collaboration with Björn Borg – @rbnxbjornborg, which lands at @brownsfashion today – what makes a good song, and how making Honey changed her. Link in bio ➡️⠀ ⠀ Plus! Robyn and @naomi_itkes will be at Browns East this afternoon from 4–6pm. Go go go 💥⠀ ⠀ 📷 by @caspersejersenstudio
#anothercontributors: For AnOther Magazine S/S19, Lynette Nylander (@lynettesaid) interviews @lupitanyongo...⠀ ⠀ We asked Nylander: What do you find inspiring about Lupita? “She’s a TP, total package – intelligence, beauty and talent.” Where did you meet? “Lupita and I bonded over our dislike of particularly bad house music that drowned out our conversation at The Lafayette, a tucked-away neighbourhood restaurant in Clinton Hill, Brooklyn.” What was your first impression of her? “She has an intensity, in her stare, her presence, her beauty, that pierces through you and sort of lingers long after you leave her. What are you currently reading? “My Soul Looks Back by Jessica B Harris.” Read their interview at the link in our bio ➡️⠀ ⠀ 📷 by @willyvanderperre, styling by #olivierrizzo⠀
